X-Treme X-140 Electric Scooter Review PDF Print E-mail

The pint sized X-Treme X-140 electric scooter is compact and simple to use. The X-140 is named after its 140 watt motor, and is suitable for younger riders. The convenient folding and locking handlebars make storing, and carrying the X-140 easy. The scooter is so easy to carry, as it only weighs 19 lbs., and folds into a compact size for transport. The X-treme X-140 electric scooter is not suitable for riders over 200lbs, and would be best suited for a rider between 50-150 lbs. I was a little bit too big for this scooter, so I called my sister to see if I could use my nephew again. After the last scooter I took to him, I had to have him agree that he could ride and play with the scooter, however, this one needs to go back when we are done. My nephew last tried the X-Treme X-10 Mini Electric Scooter, and loved the thing so much that I had to get him one. When he got on the X-Treme X-140 Electric Scooter, he was impressed with the power and accelleration compared to the smaller version. The height adjustable handlebars made it easy for my nephew and neice to ride, even with their 1 1/2' height difference. The 6" wheels are great for riding over small bumps, and the 6-8 mile range is smoother with 6" tires. There is no seat on the X-140, as the scooter is mostly designed to be a "stand-up scooter". I Think the X-140 is a great introductory Electric Scooter for kids that want to get into electric scooters. The acceleration is not too much, and the scooter has a very user friendly design that makes the X-treme X-140 Electric Scooter a great candidate for a young riders first Electric Scooter.

0 #2 a 2010-01-13 12:35 piece of crap! and terrible customer service!! this is the first negative review i have ever left on line, who has time?? these people seriously made me upset though. i ordered two of these for my kids for christmas… one arrived with a broken clamp and the other with a toggle on/off that doesn't work. we were out of town and i paid someone to put them together, because the x-treme scooter could not get the clamp part out on time, i had to pay my help to go buy one… my help didn't notice the on/off didn't work on the other one, as you are supposed to charge them right before use, and these were going under the tree by "santa"… my kids and I came home to a scooter that didn't work… my 6 year old asked if he had been bad and that is why santa left him a broken scooter… i immediately took him to toys r us and bought him a razor. then to return the faulty one! well after numerous emails, etc… pain in the butt… they finally called me and said they would pay for shipping back, but of course i have to pay to have the damned thing packed etc… it has been a nightmare and by the time it is over i have spent more on shipping and putting together (not including my time or kids feelings which are priceless) than the 129 the thing cost… stay away from this store and their products!
