QUESTION & ANSWER

Question: How can i check to make sure my voltage controller is bad or not? My Schwinn S500 CD has no power whatsoever and the battery charger shows it is charged and the 40amp fuse is not blown i just dont know what is wrong and i live too far away from a service center. Can you please help me? Thanks

Answer: Your batteries are probably not holding a charge anymore. Get to your batteries and test them with a Volt Meter, If you are puting out 12.5-14 volts, your batteries should be good, but any less and you will probably need new batteries. While you are checking out the batteries, check the controller, throttle, and fusebox too. If you find that any of your Electronic drive components are not functioning properly you will probably need to replace them to get your scooter going again. You can find a service shop near you, or order replacement parts at the Electric Scooter Parts Store.

+3 #1 Andrea 2010-06-14 16:42 I have a Schwinn S500 that I bought used. I cannot figure out what is wrong with it. I bought two brand new batteries, new controller, and the fuse is fine. When I click the switch to "on", it just makes a click sound but there are no lights that come on. What should I check next? Thank you. Quote
